| This great historical city continues to benefit from huge regeneration on every side – from its historical waterfront and growing marina, through to the University, offices and new shops and restaurants. Add to this our ‘must see’ tourist attractions and landmarks, there really is something here for everyone.
We have 13 Baptist churches within the Plymouth and South East Cornwall District – each of them seeking to make Christ known in their own unique way. The South West Baptist Association is honoured to have recently been asked by ecumenical partners to act as lead denomination in overseeing the planting of a church within a new town to be called ‘Sherford’. This town will be built on a green field site on the eastern approach to Plymouth, to the south of the A38.
Our Assembly theme this year, One World One Mission, will resonate well within this cosmopolitan city. Many in the UK and beyond our shores have come to appreciate that there is life at this end of the M5 – and we want to ensure that many come to find new life in Jesus for themselves, right here. We have an enormous mission field in the West Country, covering hundreds of square miles, and we are grateful that you have made the effort to visit us – and to see it for yourself!
